Allison’s Artwork

Thank you for visiting my site!

Allison Constantino

I’ve had so many people ask me, “What kind of an artist are you?”

I’m an artist who is passionate about nature! I love anything that has to do with being outside, including looking up into the vast universe or staring out into our seamless oceans!

I’m also an avid traveler, book reader, blogger, writer, film noir fan, and bicycle rider!

Thank you, Aaron, for the feature!

I’m also an avid supporter of cleaning up our oceans from plastic debris, and I’m part of the Surfrider Foundation’s “Rise Above Plastics” initiative  Rise Above Plastics Program.

I live so close to the beach that when I go to the beach and see the sea turtles that are dying because they think plastic bags are food, it breaks my heart! I created a sea turtle image note card for the City of Melbourne Beach, FL to use for any of their “Rise Above Plastics” campaign correspondence, just trying to do what I can to help.

I also created a community group, “Environmental Art – Specifically Ocean Conservation,” on pixels.com. Environmental Art – Specifically Ocean Conservation

This group of 221 unique artists and photographers on pixels.com are sharing over 2150 of their ocean conservation images.

I’m a 10-mile-a-day bicycle rider! Yep! Every day! Sometimes in the rain. I live in Florida, so it’s an occupational hazard!

I love “film noir” movies from the 1940s that feature sultry blondes and cynical heroes. Two of my favorite “film noir” movies are Billy Wilder’s “Double Indemnity,” starring Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, and Edward G. Robinson, and “Conflict,” starring Humphrey Bogart and Alexis Smith.

Something about this genre is so appealing to me! The image below is a painting I created after watching a “Monk” TV segment –  “Mr. Monk and the Voodoo Curse,” starring Meatloaf as the Reverend Hadley Jorgensen. The director must have spent hours setting up this fantastic “film noir-ish” shot that lasted ten seconds!

I absolutely LOVE to read! So many of my paintings have to do with something I’ve read!

I also love creative writing, so I try to combine my love of reading with my love of writing!

I LOVE music. It inspires me and takes me to another place! Many of my paintings are inspired by music.

I paint whatever inspires me, so I have many “styles” of painting because I’m always painting something I’ve never painted before and trying new techniques!

I love painting “traditional” nature scenes, colorful abstracts, space scenes, birds, cows, landscapes – whatever! Maybe a better question would be what don’t you paint, Allison???
