I love the song “Erase” by LAR and Nu-La!

In listening to the song and creating this image, I had to “erase” the image, the heartache, and the pain!

“Sea of Love” 8×10 Fluid Acrylic Pour on 1″ Sustainable Wood – (the original is unframed)

This acrylic pour image reminds me of getting lost in a “Sea of Love.”

In the song, “Sara,” Stevie Nicks writes:

Drowning
In the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown

Isn’t that where we’d all love to drown?

Nicks wrote this song, partially about her friend Sara Recor that, at the time Stevie was dating Mick Fleetwood, he was also dating Sara, whom he eventually married.

It was a tumultuous time for the band and caused a great deal of pain for everyone at the time.

This original acrylic pour is created on 1″ sustainable wood.

This image of a snowstorm, wind blowing, night falling comes into my mind.

Running in the shadows, damning your love and your lies.

Haven’t we all been there in that “shadow hell,” where we can’t seem to find our way out of our misery? Damned if we do, damned if we don’t!”

No one can really help you if you find yourself imprisoned in this kind of relationship!

It’s pure and utter hell! I tried to capture that feeling of complete desperation and isolation in this image.

This painting was inspired by watching “rivulets’ (a very small stream) of rain drip down my window.

I loved the way each raindrop morphed into different colors as it descended my windowpane.

I love trees! I ride my bike everyday on a bike trail and see sunlight filtering through the trees. It’s truly breathtaking!

Beautiful fields of gold move gently in the wind, with blue skies and a dramatic mountain backdrop. The mountains move forward with vivid colors popping off the canvas. I love creating images with lots of different textures. The sky is filled with cool and warm colors as the bright sun commands your attention. I love to travel, and one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever visited was Bora Bora in French Polynesia!

A beautiful coral reef surrounds the island. The colors of the reef ranged from turquoise to pink.

In the distance, you could see the haunting island of Moorea. It was almost surreal. I could visualize Paul Gauguin painting his beautiful images on the beach. It was breathtaking!

The island smells of coconuts and smoke, creating a hazy mist enveloping everything.

It took me a while, upon my return to the States, to “get over” the “island fever.” It was like being in another dimension.

One that slowed the clock down and allowed me to do nothing and be okay with it.

To this day, I still remember what it felt like to be in a place where time stood still!

We gauge our “progress” by “reflecting” on our lives and concluding our success is “good” or “bad” based on our own set of goals.

The use of reflective images tells the story of reflections. We are constantly looking at ourselves, evaluating ourselves, and reflecting.

However, reflections only reflect; they don’t create.

If we want to better our reflections, we only need to see them for what they are, only past thoughts and not future capabilities.

Seeing the reflection is the first step in changing behavior.
